How to talk about months in Spanish

What preposition should be used while talking about months in Spanish? What’s the difference between talking about days of the week and months? Below you will find a short and exact explanation.

Last week I explained to you How to say on Monday in Spanish, today we will analyze grammar rules related to months. This time they are very simple. If you want to say that something happened, happens or will happen in this month, you should use the preposition EN + NAME OF THE MONTH.

Before you skip to the table with names of the months in Spanish and the exact preposition, please remember that in Spanish, the days of the week and the months are written with lower case.

You should bear in mind one more detail, although Spanish months have a masculine gender, we don’t use the definite article to accompany it. This is why we should say enero es mi mes preferido instead of el enero es mi mes preferido (January is my favourite month).
